Please present yourself in a few words…
My name is Veneta. I'm an accountant by profession but I have a soul of a pastry chef 🙂 One of my hobbies is to make sweet temptations that make people around me happy. My dream is to have one day my own pastry shop for healthy desserts.
Did you like CrossFit from the very beginning, or you were hesitant for a while?
I first stepped in a CrossFit gym in August 2011. I had no idea what the sport really was. I do not remember exactly what my first workout was – there were a lot of squats, crunches and push-ups, but I remembered how, for 2 weeks afterwards, every single one of my muscles ached and I was wondering what was going on with my body. It took me about a month to summon the courage and go back to the gym for a second workout, and since then for almost 7 years CrossFit has been part of my life.
Why do you prefer it to other group activities such as pilates, zumba, tae-bo which most ladies prefer?
CrossFit is not just a sport like any other. It combines a lot of things – gymnastics, athletics, barbells… The workouts are diverse, not repeated (or at least not often) and there is always something new to learn.
For me, personally, CrossFit is the only sport that has held my attention for 7 years now, because when I go to the gym, I don’t know what is awaiting me – I don’t know what the workout will be and the uncertainty makes me wonder whether I will be able to do it. This, in turn, causes specific chills and adrenaline in the body, not only before, but also during the workout ?
How did your body change, and thinking as well, because we may say that CrossFit is not just a sport but also a way of life?
CrossFit is really a way of life and a daily routine. A way to train, to have fun and to meet friends and cool people.
When I started doing CrossFit initially, I lost weight and became slimmer. Then my body got shaped, I felt stronger, and my endurance grew. CrossFit movements and the physical preparation that it gives can be useful in many other activities. With each workout you break your thinking and challenge yourself. You gain more confidence and self-esteem, and you know that you can do every single movement that used to seem to you impossible, as long as you are standing and not giving up, because the capabilities of the human body are unlimited. In my opinion, CrossFit is a sport that proves this.
What are your favorite movements, workouts?
My favorite movements in CrossFit are KB swing, burpees and wallball, and, as strange as it may sound, the movements of weightlifting. My favorite workout is 'Air force'.

What does the CrossFit community mean to you?
The CrossFit community is shaped by people who really want to do CrossFit, people who not only have personal but also common goals and team spirit. То me the CrossFit community is the best thing about CrossFit. Many people view it as a sect, but in fact, to me it is a circle of close friends who experience and do what you do, and regardless of the results achieved, I feel good in this community, because I feel the support of people. The CrossFit community is like a second family ?
